THE NEWS "Exit Wounds" with Steven Seagal Steven Seagal is out with a new movie. This time with more of his Aikido techniques, plus a few more tricks adapted from modern martial arts. He stars with rap star turned actor DMX. I haven't seen the film though but it has earned close to about $8 million last week here in the US. Here's the scoop on the movie. Unlike his previous films, Seagal didn't choreograph all his fight scenes. Instead Joel Silver who produced Lethal Weapon and The Matrix called in Dion Lam to set up the action scenes. Dion Lam has Romeo Must Die under his belt for fight choreography, starring Jet Li. There were a lot of accidents too that occured while filming this movie. Seagal tore an ACL muscle while doing some wire manuevers (ala The Matrix). And a stuntman named Chris Lamon received a fatal head injury while doing a stunt. Trivia: In 1997, Steven Seagal was declared a reincarnation of a Buddhist master by a head of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan buddhism. He has been formally recognized but has not been enthroned. |
